2022 Las Damas Horse Rental

This section is for those that have indicated they would like to reserve a horseback ride with Bumble Bee Ranch. These are not “Horse Rentals” where you can just take my horses and go on any ride. You are reserving a horseback ride with Bumble Bee Ranch employees at designated time slots. Period.

You will have two choices this year for each day. One two hour ride, and an one hour ride. If we do one on Thursday, it will only be an one hour ride.

ALL RIDES LEAVE FROM THE TACK ROOM!!

DAY ONE - TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25th

Ride #1 - Zig Zag Trail - Cost $75 per person (includes tax) - 10AM -2 Hours
- Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
- Length of Ride: 2 Hours
- Date and Time: Tuesday, October 25th at 10AM at Tack Room to load up
Those wanting to use their own saddle, be there at 9AM. By the time we load up and head out, it will be close to 10:30AM. Expect to be out until 12:30PM. The sun starts to set at 5PM, and dinner is served at 6PM.
- Eat Lunch before you come or bring a snack. Lunch will not be on the trail.
- Description: Personally, this is my favorite ride - Kelly. It includes everything and is not hard on the horses. You will experience the Bumble Bee Creek, single track and ATV trails through the foothills of the Bradshaw Mountains located in the upper Sonoran desert, and sand washes. You will ride along the saguaros and even see two crested saguaros aka broccoli. Part of the trail is on the Black Canyon Trail which is 80 miles long from start to finish. We are only on part of it.

Ride #2 - The Overlook - Cost $50 per person (includes tax) - 11AM - 1 Hour
- Skill Level: Beginner
- Length of Ride: 1 Hour
- Date and Time: Tuesday, October 25th at 11:00AM. Those wanting to use their own saddle, be there at 10AM. By the time we load up and head out, it will be close to 11:30AM. Expect to be out until 12:30PM. The sun starts to set at 5PM, and dinner is served at 6PM.
Description: This ride is across the street from the ranch at the foothills of the Bradshaw Mountain. You will cover all terrains from the creek bed to single track to sand wash. It is called the “Overlook” because at one spot you will be able to see the entire layout of the land.

DAY TWO - WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26th

Ride #1 - South Bound Trail - Cost $75 per person (includes tax) - 2 Hours
- Skill Level: Intermediate to Experienced
- Length of Ride: 2 Hours unless we have to stop a lot - be prepared for it to be longer
- Date and Time: Wednesday, October 26th at 10AM at Tack Room to load up
Those wanting to use their own saddle, be there at 9AM. It will take less time to load up especially if you are riding the same horse. This ride tends to take longer due to the technical parts. Plan to be back between 12:30 - 1PM. Sun starts to set at 5PM, and dinner is served at 6PM.
- Eat Lunch before you come or bring a snack. Lunch will not be on the trail.
- Description: This is Caitlin’s favorite ride. This trail will utilize the south bound trail of the Black Canyon Trail. You will start off on ATV roads then skirt into a single track. After a mile or two, you will drop off a steep hill to the pipeline junction station. You passed it on the way in. There is no set trail. You will then cross the road and follow the ATV trail down to the Black Canyon Creek. Caitlin will guide you through the river rock and rough terrain. There maybe a lot of water. There may not be. Depends on what Mother Nature gives us. If there is quick sand present due to recent rain fall, we will pick a different trail. You will be notified if that happens ahead of time.

Ride #2 - Crested Saguaro - Cost $50 per person (includes tax) - 1 Hour
- Skill Level: Beginner
- Length of Ride: 1 Hour
- Date and Time: Wednesday, October 26th at 11AM at Tack Room to load up
Those wanting to use their own saddle, be there at 10AM. It will take less time to load up especially if you are riding the same horse. Plan to be back around 12:30PM. Sun starts to set at 5PM, and dinner is served at 6PM.

- Description: The Crested Saguaro is part of the Zig Zag trail. It has beautiful scenery and will go past a large crested saguaro. It is mostly single track with gradual ups and downs. It is the most popular ride on the ranch.

DEADLINE FOR SIGN-UP IS October 15TH.

Rules:

1. We need to know your approximate weight and skill level of riding. If you refuse to give it then you don’t get to go.

2. You pay for your ride when you check-in at the office when you arrive on the ranch.

3. You will not pass the lead rider aka Bumble Bee Ranch employees

4. We will not be cantering or running. Walking and trotting allowed.

5. You can use your own saddle IF it fits your assigned horse. You must be at the barn one hour before departure time and you must notify us below that you would like to try your saddle. Our saddles are very comfortable. They are neoprene western saddles. The mules have leather western saddles.

6. You will mount on our horses through our loading chutes. It is for the horses’ backs. We know you can get on from the ground, you don’t need to prove it to us. If the particular horse doesn’t go through the chutes then we will use the mounting steps.

7. Yes, your friends can tagalong with their own horses. Bumble Bee Ranch employees are in charge. If they don’t want to follow the rules, they will be asked to depart the ride.

8. Closed toed shoes and long jeans. No flip flops or capris. No whining allowed.

9. If you decide to ignore our rules, and put my horses in dangerous situations that permanently cripple my horses. You will have purchased yourself a horse for $5,000. Might even possibly have to walk home.
