Bumble Bee Ranch is a staging area for Runner’s Crews while they wait to be released to aid their runner in Crown King. If you are interested in camping here for the weekend, we have plenty of space. You can bring your RV or just tent camp it. There is a fee to stay on property. If you would like to make reservations, please click on the link above.
Overnight Accommodations
Tent Camping: $15 per night per tent (Camping in your car or on a cot under the stars is considered tent camping)
RV Dry Camping: $15 per night per vehicle
Electrical Hookups: $30 per night per vehicle for Electric Only
$40 per night per vehicle for Electrical and Water Hookups
$50 per night per vehicle for Full Hookups with Septic
Guest House Bedrooms for both the Big House and Cabin 6 are controlled by Bumble Bee Ranch. Request a room on the reservation form. Two night minimum required for both houses. NO DOGS ALLOWED IN THE HOUSES.
All campers have access to showers and bathrooms.
Food
Breakfast Burritos, Lunches and Dinners are available*. We need at least 6 adults to make a meal. You will be notified one week before the event to let you know if the meal is happening so you can prepare.
If you do not show up for the meal, you will still be responsible for it. If you call and cancel, there is no penalty.
*Gluten Free and vegan options are available with each meal.
Sunday - Hamburgers and Hot Dogs Dinner - 7PM - $15 per person (for the late comers)
Monday - Coffee, tea and hot coco are available all day at no cost
- Breakfast Burritos - Served from 6AM to 11AM - $10 each - comes with soda or water
- Individual Custom Pizzas- Served from 11AM to 3PM - $10 each - comes with chips, granola bar, and soda or water / $20 for medium pizza (3 drinks)
- Spaghetti Dinner - 7PM to 8PM - $15 person (just in case the marathon runs overtime)

ALL RUNNERS’ CREWS MUST CHECK-IN with Aravaipa Staff AT BUMBLE BEE RANCH PRIOR TO MEETING THEIR RUNNER AT THE CROWN KING AID STATION.. Check in is at the PAVILION where the red stage coach is.
After the runners leave the Start Line in Black Canyon City come hang out with us at Bumble Bee Ranch. We will have the Cocodona LiveStream and runner tracking displayed on projectors. Food (breakfast, lunch, and drinks) will be available for purchase. Parking in Crown King is extremely limited. We will release crews from Bumble Bee Ranch to drive up to Crown King once your runner has reached a certain point on the course. It is about a 1 hour drive from Bumble Bee to Crown King.
Drive times:
Start Line in Black Canyon City to Bumble Bee Ranch (23925 Bumble Bee Rd, Mayer, AZ) is about 30 minutes
Bumble Bee Ranch to Crown King is about 1 hour
Bumble Bee Ranch to the Whiskey Row Aid Station is about 1.25 hours
Camping at Bumble Bee Ranch on Sunday and Monday nights is available with a reservation. Crews of mid to back-of-the-pack’ers are encouraged to camp at Bumble Bee Ranch on Monday night after returning from Crown King. These crews will still have ample time to meet their runner at the Whiskey Row Aid Station on Tuesday. Crews of leaders to mid-pack should not stay at Bumble Bee Ranch on Monday night as they will not have time to meet their runner at the Whiskey Row Aid Station.
